About the Role

Checkout.com is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Data Platform Team. Our mission is to build a world-class data platform powering our products and analytics. Utilizing state-of-the-art technologies such as Kubernetes (preferably EKS), Kafka (MSK preferred), and AWS, we design and implement scalable infrastructure that serves hundreds of teams and petabyte-level data volumes.

If you're passionate about cloud-native technologies, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS, this role offers an exciting opportunity to drive technical decisions and collaborate on innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, spearhead, and enhance our platform offerings including MSK, Kubernetes (ArgoCD is a plus), Airflow, and Snowflake as part of a team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and project deliverables.
• Optimize infrastructure design, focusing on performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers, promoting continuous learning.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to maintain system reliability.
• Advocate for best practices in AWS networking and support teams in this area.

About You

You should have experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role with expertise in Kubernetes (preferably EKS), CI/CD pipelines (particularly GitHub Actions), AWS services, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. Proficiency in driving technical decisions, analyzing complex problems, and proposing scalable solutions is essential.

Additional experience with large-scale distributed technologies like Flink, Spark, Hive, Kafka, Cassandra, and data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Helm, ArgoCD, and Kustomize is beneficial.
