About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer/Administrator to join our dynamic and innovative IT team. In this pivotal role, you will design, develop, and implement solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform suite of tools, primarily focusing on Power BI and Power Automate. You will also contribute to the administration of our GCC-High Power BI tenant.

Primary Responsibilities

Power BI Developer Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and support high-visibility reports, including desktop, mobile, and dashboards.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and end users to evaluate business requirements and advise on appropriate informative views and dashboards.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and configure Power BI Reports and Apps to meet customer needs.
  • Perform data integration and manipulation tasks using connectors and APIs.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of Power BI solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of Power BI solutions.

Power BI Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Configure environment settings, including security, data policies, and connection references.
  • Manage user access and permissions to Power Platform applications and resources.
  • Configure and enforce security policies to protect data and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain governance policies, best practices, and security standards for the Power Platform environment.
  • Monitor and manage Power Platform licenses to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Monitor and optimize Power BI performance.
  • Configure and manage gateways for on-premise data sources.
  • Troubleshoot data refresh and connectivity issues.
  • Configure and manage Power Platform Center of Excellence Toolkit.
  • Leverage the CoE toolkit to analyze the organization’s Power Platform adoption, understand usage patterns, identify improvement areas, and track progress.
  • Implement audit and compliance mechanisms.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem and evaluate their applicability to business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • 4+ years of experience in Power BI development and administration, including proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and M Query Language.
  • Expertise in designing information visualizations and dashboards.
  • Experience creating visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data integration techniques, and REST APIs.
  • Experience with Power BI tenant administration (settings, capacity monitoring, security, and data governance).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in team-oriented environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure Portal, M365 Admin portal, PowerShell Scripting, REST APIs, Power BI usage & capacity reporting, Power Automate, Power Apps, and GCC-High.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications are preferred.
