This position offers the chance to develop GSK’s data fabric and data strategy within the Development Tech Architecture team. You will collaborate extensively with architects, engineers, and product owners, making substantial contributions to our technical solutions and innovations. Your work will directly impact our agile and DevOps operations, keeping us at the forefront of R&D technologies.
As a Senior Principal Data Engineer, your role is crucial in utilizing Azure cloud services along with various GSK data platform tools to manage data efficiently. Your core responsibilities will involve the innovative handling of data through ingestion, transformation, and egress techniques. You will also be vital in pioneering development practices for our Development Data Fabric and ensuring compliance with GSK’s rigorous security and quality standards.
Technical leadership and collaboration with both internal teams and external partners will be a day-to-day activity, ensuring the integration of new technologies and the continuous enhancement of our systems. Through hands-on experimentation and leadership, you will spearhead improvement and innovation within the team.
The ideal candidate will have a robust proficiency in multiple core competencies including software development, data analytics, and cloud technologies among others, with a demonstrated ability to lead projects delivering tangible business value. A background in computer science or a related field and extensive experience with modern programming languages and data platforms is required.
Experience in clinical development processes, AI/ML implementation, and advanced data handling techniques will distinguish you as a preferred candidate. Familiarity with the agile methodology and a proactive approach in adopting security best practices are highly advantageous.
