Senior Quantitative Developer and Architect (C#, C++, Python) - RWE Supply & Trading GmbH

Join our Quantitative Development team in the Structuring & Valuation department (S&V) at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, based in London, Swindon, or Essen. We seek a Senior Quantitative Developer and Architect ready to impact our front office software landscape.

The team manages all the essential standardized optimization and derivatives pricing software for RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST), maintaining, developing, and supporting tools and libraries across all desks and locations. This role involves close collaboration with other teams in S&V, trading desks, commercial asset management, risk management, and IT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing a new library to centralize existing functionality
  • Write code in C#, C++, Python, gRPC / Protobuf
  • Support multiple platforms such as Windows, Linux-Container, and DataBricks
  • Tailor for various target architectures, both local and service-based
  • Transfer existing libraries/models
  • Contribute to maintaining, developing, and supporting major standardized optimization and derivatives pricing software used within RWEST
  • Work closely with colleagues to implement business requirements for models and reports

Your Powerful Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

  • University degree (Diploma / Masters / PhD) in Applied Math/Computer Science or equivalent
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing financial libraries
  • Excellent knowledge of designing and implementing analytics models for pricing and risk management
  • Strong experience in OOP using C# (.NET8), C++, Python, with an attitude towards an agile working style
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, Databases/SQL, Linux, DevOps/Git, and Visual Studio (Code)
  • Very good communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, along with the ability to translate complex real-world requirements into software solutions efficiently and autonomously

Advantageous Skills (Not Mandatory)

  • Knowledge of products in the energy market/commodity market
  • Work experience in energy/commodity trading
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art ML libraries and AI techniques
