About the Role

The Data Insights + Analytics Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco plays a crucial role in collecting, validating, and providing high-quality data to support the Federal Reserve’s supervisory and monetary policy objectives. As a Senior Regulatory Data Specialist in our Reserves Administration Team, you will leverage your expertise in economics, finance, and accounting to analyze and process diverse financial and monetary data, supporting users such as the Board of Governors, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and various financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate analysis related to reserve balances and interest.
  • Update and maintain information used in processing depository institutions' data, ensuring data discrepancies are reconciled.
  • Perform hands-on exploratory data analysis using various tools and languages to interpret monetary and regulatory data.
  • Share insights and perspectives gained through research with broad audiences and stakeholders.
  • Analyze automation and technical issues, recommending effective solutions.
  • Triage and resolve RRC-reported issues and user queries.
  • Support data analytics and query requests from other Reserves Analysts nationwide.
  • Contribute to establishing business policies and anticipating the impacts of changes.
  • Participate in system-level workgroups as a technical expert, lead, consultant, or instructor.
  • Lead teams and independently assume responsibility for achieving results.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in the banking industry, regulatory/SEC reporting, public company accounting, or auditing.
  • Strong time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and system applications.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and effectively to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency in learning new applications and technical concepts quickly.
  • US citizenship required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent certification
  • Experience in leadership or project management roles
  • Knowledge of banking and accounting
  • Familiarity with data retrieval and statistical analysis programs such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, Tableau

Compensation and Benefits:

Base Salary Range: Min: $105,300 - Mid: $136,700 - Max: $168,100 (Location: San Francisco)
Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant’s background, experience, and skills.
