Job Description: Senior Research Scientist, Proteomics Group

At MSK's Sloan Kettering Institute in New York City, the Proteomics Group is seeking a talented and expert Senior Research Scientist specialized in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. This pivotal role involves spearheading the design and implementation of proteomic experiments, advancing LC-MS based methods, and innovating in areas such as single cell proteomics and immunopeptidomics among others.

You will collaborate closely with a dynamic team, contributing to groundbreaking projects that support and accelerate our research at SKI. Your expertise in high-resolution mass spectrometry and protein biochemistry will play a crucial role in the advancement of our scientific goals.

Who You Are:

Potential candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years postdoctoral research experience focused on proteomics and mass spectrometry.
  • Demonstrable experience with various proteomics techniques such as PTM, protein-protein interactions, and chemoproteomics, with a preference for experience in targeted proteomics (PRM/SRM).
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and familiar with software like Perseus and GraphPad Prism.
  • Scripting skills in languages such as R or Python are preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary scientific team.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a strong record of scientific innovation and publication.
