Position Overview

Located in Mountain View, CA, Samsung Research America is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Researcher/Engineer to join our transformative AI endeavors. This role focuses on advancing the capabilities of AI agents through the development and refinement of large language models (LLMs). Collaborate with an exceptional team to drive major innovations in AI, partaking in projects that integrate your contributions into future Samsung products globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced foundation models to revolutionize future technology frameworks through innovative model training and instruction tuning.
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to translate complex requirements into proactive AI solutions.
• Perform comprehensive analysis on model performances, spearheading strategic enhancements on LLMs.
• Generate and document groundbreaking solutions and research findings, significantly impacting the AI spectrum.

Required Expertise and Skills

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with practical AI research experience.
• Deep understanding and hands-on expertise in Transformer model architectures, decoder only LLMs, and retrieval augmented generation models.
• Proficient in advanced AI techniques including LLM alignment and neuro-symbolic models.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch and experience with large-scale models like GPT or LLaMA.
• Strong analytical capabilities, acute attention to detail, and a relentless pursuit to push AI boundaries.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex data and ideas clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrated success in collaborative environments, with a track record of impactful research publications.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $151,200—$207,750 USD, varying by location and experience. Our total rewards package also includes annual bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits designed to enhance your life and well-being.
