Amazon Robotics is developing a new foundational system to revolutionize warehouse robotics by facilitating the creation of numerous additional automation solutions. The system combines multiple robots through a custom vision system that can identify objects and localize with extreme positional accuracy. The team is in search of a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and expand the perception system.
The perfect candidate has a passion for software development and a history of directing the design and implementation of new products and features using cloud solutions and robotic systems. They have tackled computer vision issues and seen their solutions deployed at scale in live settings. They are hands-on experts with a wide and deep understanding of sensors, algorithms and their integration into a larger system.
Key job responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborating closely with hardware engineers to design and implement a customized high-accuracy, low-cost system
• Applying experience and judgement in selecting top-of-the-line algorithms including deep learning approaches
• Evaluating and incorporating new sensors into the perception software stack
• Developing infrastructure for robotic perception and localization
• Constructing visualization tools for analyzing and debugging robot behavior
• developing frameworks for large-scale recording, replaying and analysis of sensor data.
They must have at least 8+ years of overall experience & 6+ years of relevant experience.
The individual will design and implement a CV-based system to detect the position of objects. They will work closely with embedded software engineers and hardware engineers to integrate the CV app into the rest of the system. They will build tools and frameworks to operate this system at scale.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Austin, TX, USA | Seattle, WA, USA
