Job Description

Locus Robotics is in need of a Senior Robotics Software Engineer for its Advanced Products Group (APG) to assist in the development, integration, and evolution of new concepts. The APG is a forward-looking group that appraises product opportunities utilizing emerging technologies, with 2–4-year roadmaps.     

This position is located at our Nashua NH Office. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Integrate robotic hardware and software systems by creating, enhancing or developing new APIs. 

  • Design and execute proof of concepts and demonstrations for both internal and external purposes.  

  • Develop predictable behaviors for human-robot and robot-robot interactions. 

  • Create and execute test procedures for performance assessment.  

  • Document and disseminate knowledge and refine designs based on team feedback. 

  • May be required to travel periodically to support pilot deployments and demonstrations.  

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience working with C++ or other object-oriented languages. 

  • Proven experience with robotics integration, driver development, and bring up with Robot Operating System (ROS).  

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders and to both receive and provide feedback for iterative design.  

  • Comfortable in a quick, iterative design and experimentation culture. 

  • Familiarity with API development, as well as hardware and software integration.   

  • Knowledgeable about robotics systems architecture and mobile robotics.
