About the Role

At Centrica, innovation drives us forward, and data is at the heart of our operations. We are currently seeking a Senior Software & Data Engineer to join our Algo Data team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating a critical data platform that supports the expansion of our Algorithmic Trading business. This position is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to make an impact in data and algo trading.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software & Data Engineer, you will:

• Develop cutting-edge green tech and robust backend services using .NET C# and Web API.
• Create intuitive user interfaces with Angular.
• Ensure system reliability and quality through unit testing and automated testing.
• Manage scalable solutions in the AWS Cloud and with Kubernetes.
• Operate real-time data processing with Kafka and RabbitMQ.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal team member will be a strong team player with a curiosity and experience in:

• Data engineering and distributed systems design
• Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Developing and operating large-scale data systems

Experience in additional tools like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, as well as familiarity with Humio, Serilog, Octopus Deploy, and Argo is highly desirable.
