Opportunity in OCI AI Data Org

In the OCI AI Data org, we tackle challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence and advanced cloud infrastructure. We are developing platforms for AI/ML evaluation and benchmarking, and revolutionizing synthetic data generation. Our work is at the forefront of Generative AI (GenAI) and Responsible AI (RAI) initiatives across Oracle.

Position: Senior Software Developer/Software Developer 2

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI software using Java, Python, and other languages.
• Participate in the full software lifecycle: development, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Engage in the model development cycle: training, fine-tuning, model serving, evaluation/benchmarking, and human preference learning.
• Apply engineering principles to define robust and maintainable architectures and designs.
• Build cloud services with modern Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) components at OCI.
• Design distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems for GenAI model development.
• Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, and schedule deliverables. Drive the adoption of coding standards and patterns while enhancing our inclusive engineering culture.
• Contribute to publications, blogs, and open-source ML performance, collaborating with product managers.
• Balance product feature development with production operational concerns like ops automation and structured logging.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of experience developing and shipping enterprise distributed or cloud-native systems.
• Strong understanding of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architecture.
• Proficiency in coding with Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages.
• Experience in building highly available services and knowledge of service-oriented design patterns and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with containers and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative environments.
• Effective communication skills for technical concepts.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of data science and machine learning.
• Production experience with cloud and ML technologies.
• Experience with Generative AI Modeling, including customizing and deploying large language models (LLMs) and working with transformer models, attention mechanisms, and prompt tooling.

Compensation and Benefits

For US locations, the hiring range is from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum, with potential for bonuses and equity. Oracle offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
