Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Business & Team

We are in search of a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Risk and Regulatory Crew. This role in the Strategic Trade Reporting Team reports to the Engineering Manager and involves a variety of software development tasks, from inception to testing and support, crucial for meeting the demands of global financial regulations now and in the future. We are transitioning to an AWS cloud technology stack over the coming years and adopting a DevSecOps model where engineers are exposed to the full lifecycle from inception to testing, delivery, and support.

Impact & Contribution

A passion for understanding complex systems and data with a high attention to detail is essential. Proficiency in UNIX, SQL, Python and the ability to manipulate complex data files in XML and JSON is required. Experience with Ab Initio or other ETL technologies and AWS is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work primarily with the Ab Initio ETL suite, Oracle databases on UNIX operating systems.
• Collaborate within the team to apply principles of design, development, testing, deployment, support, and evaluation.
• Develop high-quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage.
• Contribute to the technical design for system enhancements.
• Provide technical support and assistance to other non-technical team members.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Engage in support and technical troubleshooting activities.

Essential Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• 4+ years of experience in building Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouses using Ab Initio including Express>It, Control Centre, Metadata Hub, Query>It, and other products.
• A comprehensive understanding of the trade lifecycle for major financial asset classes.
• Technical Business Analysis experience and hands-on experience developing functional specifications.
• Solid understanding of Data Engineering principles including Data Modelling methodologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
