What You'll Do:

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Data Engineering, you will:

  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Design and implement infrastructure for efficient data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading using advanced tools like Google Dataflow and Big Query.
  • Enhance data quality and process effectiveness through thorough analysis of existing and new data.
  • Collaborate closely with data experts to improve our data systems' functionality.
  • Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to address data-related technical issues and support their infrastructure needs.
  • Follow and demonstrate best practices in data management and handling.
  • Lead the development of analytic insights and solutions through expert data management and analysis.
  • Guide and mentor data analysts in building robust data pipelines for better data usability in downstream analytics.
  • Develop and implement new processes and systems that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

What Experience You Need:

To be successful in this role at Equifax, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience post-acquisition of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JAVA and SQL.
  • Experience with databases like Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres, and AWS DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with source code management systems like SVN/Git, Github.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like JIRA and Confluence from Atlassian.

  • Active Cloud Certifications.
  • Experience in Apache Beam, GCP Dataflow, and GCP Bigquery.
  • Proficiency in managing data ingestion from AWS Kinesis or GCP Pub Sub Topics and transferring files between GCP Cloud and AWS S3.
  • Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership and drive.
