Senior Software Engineer - Data Products

The Central Data Platform aims to construct a self-service tooling platform to make the petabytes of data at Discord easily accessible for everyone in the company. We create full-stack applications, tools, and frameworks to enhance the productivity of the teams at Discord, particularly our product, analytics, and machine learning units. Our tools address the entire lifecycle of data, from acquisition to utilization. Your responsibilities

• Direct the complete development of data tools and frameworks, using cutting-edge technologies such as BigQuery, Apache Beam, Airflow, Dagster, dbt, Kubernetes, and Rust.
• Ensure close collaboration with leadership, cross-functional stakeholders and senior engineers across the organization. Work with leadership and senior engineers in the team to identify the technical vision and develop the technical roadmap for Data Platform.
• Collaborate with the Data Platform to maintain a platform with solid governance that respects our users' privacy throughout.
• Remain deeply conscious of business outcomes and restrictions and keep them in consideration as you tackle difficult, unbounded issues.
• Collaborate with other Staff Engineers to make decisions for the organization and engineering department as a whole.
• Guide and mentor the upcoming class of technical leaders at Discord.
