About The Role

As a pivotal part of our Data Stores team, you’ll work closely with adept software engineers to define and implement scalable storage solutions for vast data amounts. Your role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing database solutions meticulously tailored to our needs. You'll contribute innovative ideas and strategies to enable long-term database sustainability and efficiency, playing a vital role in maintaining our market lead with cutting-edge database technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable database solutions.
• Leading and mentoring team members to optimize database operations.
• Exploring and enacting cost-efficient performance enhancements.
• Developing tools and processes essential for large-scale database management.
• Continuous improvement of our database architectures.
• Staying ahead of industry trends and integrating pioneering database technologies as needed.
• Ensuring system availability and performance through on-call rotations.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Proven expertise in the design and management of extensive database systems.
• Advanced knowledge of database theory, distributed systems, and database management.
• Hands-on experience with high-volume Relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with MySQL, Postgres, MariaDB, and various NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.
• Proficiency with AWS database solutions and infrastructure.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and script programming skills.
• Adept in configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Experience with OLAP databases and Kubernetes would be advantageous.
