As part of the Data Services organization at Oracle, we are passionate about empowering data users and architects to build large-scale data applications, from processing healthcare data for medical research to network anomaly detection and AI machine learning. Our goal is to integrate various data frameworks from the open-source ecosystem, enabling seamless data applications on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

About OCI Data Flow

OCI Data Flow is a fully managed Apache Spark service designed to process extremely large datasets efficiently. Data engineers can leverage Spark Structured Streaming to handle streaming data continuously with minimal latency. With Jupyter Notebook integration, data scientists can perform ad-hoc analysis on petabytes of data stored in OCI Object Storage or other platforms, all backed by a robust data lake architecture.

We Are Looking for Senior Software Engineers

If you are excited to scale large distributed systems, build next-generation SQL query engines, optimize performance with data storage systems, and develop enterprise-grade security, this opportunity is for you.

What We Look For:

• BS or higher in Computer Science or related engineering fields.
• 3+ years of experience in Java or Scala. Python knowledge is a plus.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with distributed systems, databases, and big data systems (Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Hadoop). SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Background in developing open-source data frameworks is desirable.
• Experience in batch and streaming data processing and analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities:

As a member of our software engineering division, you will help define and develop software related to the development, debugging, or designing of applications or operating systems. You will provide technical leadership to other developers and implement changes to existing software architecture to meet evolving needs.

Compensation and Benefits

US Hiring Range: $74,800 - $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
