Are you an experienced Data Engineer with a knack for guiding customers through building cutting-edge big data solutions? At Databricks, we're looking for a Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer (Data Engineering) to help our customers leverage the full potential of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer, you will:

  • Guide customers through the design and successful implementation of big data projects.
  • Architect production-level data pipelines, including end-to-end performance testing and optimization.
  • Assist customers in advanced technical sales aspects, such as custom proofs of concept and workload sizing.
  • Provide tutorials and training to enhance community adoption, including hackathons and conference presentations.
  • Contribute actively to the Databricks Community.
  • Integrate Databricks with 3rd-party applications to support customer architectures.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to deliver both technical and business value.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Fluent in both French and English (Business-level proficiency).
  • Flexible to travel for customer meetings and internal events/training (up to 20-30%), based in Ile-de-France (Paris region) or within commutable distance to Paris for a hybrid schedule.

What We Look For

  • Experience in a technical role with expertise in software engineering/data engineering or data applications engineering.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and Apache Spark (Python, Scala).
  • Understanding of customer-facing pre-sales or consulting roles with a core strength in data engineering.
  • Passionate about sharing advanced technical concepts, including presentations and white-boarding sessions.
  • Skills in designing and implementing complex data processing systems within a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Desirable: Databricks Certification and experience with migrating legacy systems.
