As a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Vericast, your contributions will help keep us at the forefront of the AdTech industry. Job Description As a Senior Staff Data Scientist, you will be a hands-on expert who is passionate about all aspects of data science. You will design and conduct analyses of large-scale data from a diverse range of sources, translating ambiguous requirements into concrete solutions. This involves creating appropriate algorithms, documenting findings, and integrating the analysis into solutions, systems, and platforms. Effective communication with various job disciplines is required. Your contributions should significantly exceed those of entry-level and mid-level Data Scientists. Key Duties & Responsibilities - Contribute insights and effective leadership into data science, digital media, and data engineering, while individually contributing and mentoring other data scientists. (25%) - Often act as a technical lead, defining approach, objectives, features, milestones, tasks, and trade-offs for large-scale data science projects, platforms, and systems. (25%) - Act as a subject matter expert in data science algorithms and technologies. (15%) - Design, conduct, and incorporate analyses from large-scale data from various sources. (15%) - Collaboratively work within team projects following scrum practices. (10%) - Act as a "Bar Raiser" in the hiring process, screening high-level candidates and conducting team interviews. (10%) Qualifications Education - Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics) (Required) - Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline (Preferred) - Doctorate Degree (Desired) - In lieu of the above, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Experience - 8 - 10 years Relevant Experience (Required) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Strong analytical skills, specifically in statistical/analytical machine learning techniques applied on a large scale. - Technical expertise in ML algorithms, scalable ML platforms, languages, and tools (Python, Spark, ML/Ops) in a corporate environment is highly desirable. - Ability to communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams. - Previous experience in applying Data Science in Digital Marketing Technology, Graph Theory, Privacy, and Geolocation Data is a plus. Additional Information Salary: $160,000-175,000 The compensation offered for this position will depend on several factors like skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
