About the Role: Senior / Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Computer Vision

The Engineering Team at Shiftsmart drives innovation by solving complex problems across multiple functions with lasting impact on both employers and workers. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll define how machine learning is applied to our vast marketplace data, generating business value for Shiftsmart.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build performant and reliable ML systems integrating into our production environment (Python, MongoDB, GCP services).
• Iteratively develop, train, and deploy high-scale, high-performance ML models for tasks like work pricing and maximizing fill rates.
• Develop new computer vision models to assess inventory and real-time fill rates for shelves and coolers.
• Contribute to our engineering culture and mentor junior engineers.

About You: Key Competencies

• Machine Learning Expert: 5+ years of ML and software engineering experience.
• Data Handler: Proven expertise in working with large datasets to deploy ML models.
• Programming Skills: Proficient in Python, SQL, pandas, and ML tools such as scikit-learn and XGBoost.
• Business Acumen: Understands various business perspectives using customer focus, financial, and technical savvy.
• Results-Driven: Takes initiative in planning and executing complex projects in dynamic environments.
• Collaborative: Builds strong relationships with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Computer Vision Expert: Experience with classification, action recognition, object detection, and person tracking/reidentification in images and video.

Compensation and Benefits
