Your Role
As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer in Calibration, you will:
- Join a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Research Scientists utilizing an AI-first methodology to scale safe self-driving technologies.
- Measure and enhance the quality of our sensor intrinsic and extrinsic calibration.
- Collaborate with our autonomy and sensor simulation teams to meet sensor calibration requirements.
- Work alongside hardware and operations teams to streamline the calibration process for our vehicle fleet.
- Research and develop cutting-edge calibration methods for LiDAR, IMU, Camera, and other advanced sensors.
- Design and automate calibration processes for a fleet of self-driving vehicles.
- Contribute to technical discussions, collaborating with researchers and engineers to share innovative ideas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field with at least 3 years of industry experience.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ programming languages.
- Experience with computer vision for robotics, multi-view geometry, and production quality software development.
- An open-minded, collaborative team player with a passion for self-driving technologies and solving complex problems.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience as a software manager, team lead, or technical lead.
- Knowledgeable in LiDAR, radar, camera, GNSS & inertial sensors.
- Expertise in visual odometry, SLAM, SfM, and sensor calibration.
- Experience in joint calibration of multiple sensors, software performance optimization, and profiling.
- Proficiency in Rust and/or CUDA programming.
- Background in bespoke, commercial, or open-source robotics frameworks.
- Strong applied mathematical skills including linear algebra, probability, geometry, and optimization methods.
Compensation
The US yearly salary range for this role is: $141,000 - $242,000 USD, alongside competitive perks & benefits. Waabi (US) Inc.’s compensation practices ensure that salaries align with experience, location, and role requirements. Additionally, employees in this role will receive equity awards and an annual performance bonus.
