Job Overview

With the recent expansion, including the acquisition of Tessian, Proofpoint's Tessian Business Unit is seeking an experienced Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer. This role is crucial for enhancing the security framework of our Human Layer Security software platform. You will be actively involved with a cross-functional team that includes Data Science and Engineering, significantly impacting the development and efficiency of Tessian’s products.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer will focus on two primary areas:

• Developing and upgrading tools for our Threat Intelligence (TI) team, which constitutes 70% of the role, aiming to streamline efforts and speed up the rollout of new detections.
• The remaining 30% will be dedicated to researching emerging threats, contributing to our proactive defense strategies.

You will also be coding in Python, optimizing threat detection models, and working collaboratively with teams across the unit to support and improve our threat intelligence infrastructure.

Required Qualifications/Experience

Ideal candidates will bring a robust passion for security, an agile mind for solving complex issues, and:

• Proven background in security and threat intelligence, particularly with email threats.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with distributed systems and working in cloud environments.
• An analytical approach to breaking down complex problems and crafting effective solutions.
• A history of taking ownership and driving results in a collaborative environment.
