Key Responsibilities:

• Create and enhance weather forecasts for European portfolios using various numerical weather forecasts and statistical models.
• Support daily trading decisions by analyzing the latest weather forecasts and conducting analogue analysis based on historical data.
• Integrate applied research into weather forecasting and atmospheric predictability.
• Visualize and communicate weather variations on spatial and temporal scales using multiple forecast products.
• Develop statistical arbitrage strategies for power and gas markets based on mid-range weather evolution insights.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree or relevant experience in Meteorology with expertise in Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models.
• Experience handling large weather datasets in various formats.
• Proficiency in ensemble forecast verification and knowledge of ensemble predictions' strengths and weaknesses.
• Experience with ECMWF forecasts and sub-seasonal to seasonal ensemble forecast data.
• Strong interest in short-term energy markets, renewable energy, algorithms, and data science.
• Ability to interpret and present weather forecasts with good presentation skills.
• Highly analytical and data-driven with advanced statistical and machine learning skills.
• Proficient in modeling and programming, preferably in Python.
• Excellent communication skills, team player, with a strong commercial mindset and interest in energy trading.
