About The Role:

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years in large scale *nix environments
• Proficiency with SRE principles and on-call responsibilities
• Experience crafting and deploying code across various languages (Go, Python, Ruby or Java preferred)
• Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Ansible, Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra
• Skills in scaling, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Background in supporting Java applications
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.
• Familiarity with DNS, HTTP, and RPC frameworks

Job Description:
As an SRE at Apple Services Engineering, you will engage in both strategic design and hands-on technical work to ensure optimal performance and reliability across our multi-tier systems. This role involves configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting systems and interfaces, closely collaborating with diverse teams to enhance service lifecycle from initial design to final deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the management of our data pipelines, including Kafka, Hadoop, and Cassandra
• Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Develop and review code and documentation to tackle the most challenging issues on large and complex systems
• Code proficiently in Python, Golang, and Java
• Set priorities accurately and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Optimize system performance continually
• Interact and coordinate with globally distributed teams

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required, alongside a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, compensation is more than just salary. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health coverage, stock purchase options, and tuition reimbursement, among others. Salary for this position ranges between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, based on qualifications and experience.
