Course Number and Title: ECO220Y1Y Introduction to Data Analysis and Applied Econometrics (Section LEC0501)

Course Description: This course covers numerical and graphical data description, data collection, sampling, probability, sampling distributions, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, estimation, and regression analysis. Students will learn to analyze data and interpret and explain results using Excel to replicate tables and figures found in economics research papers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Economics
  • Prior experience teaching this or a similar course at the university level
  • Ability and experience teaching large classes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching over four or more years

Description of Duties

  • Preparation and delivery of lectures
  • Supervision of assigned teaching assistants
  • Preparation, supervision, and grading of tests and exams in accordance with University regulations
  • Providing scheduled office hours for academic counseling
