Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building distributed data processing applications using Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
• 5+ years of programming experience in Scala (preferred) or Java.
• Proficient with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, SQL, Kafka.
• Proven ability in designing scalable, highly available distributed systems using Kafka, Iceberg, Kubernetes, Airflow, and Cassandra.
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures.
• Ability to create architecture and design documents independently.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in a cross-functional environment.
• Understanding of functional programming principles.

Job Description

As a vital part of the App Store Data Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in defining the strategic direction of the team. This is not just a job; it’s a mission to write robust, efficient, and scalable software that processes and analyzes petabytes of data daily. You will be deeply involved in the production of data that informs Apple’s leadership about new innovations, shaping the future of the App Store and Apple itself.

Education & Experience

A BS or MS in Computer Science is required, along with at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

Pay & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $138,000 to $207,000, depending on your expertise and location.
