Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly learn and adapt to the latest technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI to build the best LLMs.
  • Develop and maintain key platforms essential for developing, evaluating, and deploying LLMs in real-world applications.
  • Collaborate with team members to explore design approaches, prototype new technologies, and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with Applied Scientists to process large datasets and scale machine learning models while optimizing performance.

A Day in the Life

As an SDE with the AGI team, you will:

  • Lead the development of innovative algorithms and modeling techniques to advance large model training with hardware like AWS Trainium.
  • Impact customer products and services through Generative AI innovations.
  • Leverage Amazon’s diverse data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate the development of multi-modal LLMs and other Generative AI applications.
  • Influence the overall strategy and future direction of AGI at Amazon, driving system architecture and championing best practices for superior infrastructure quality.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software swiftly.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Bellevue, WA, USA.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship experience in design or architecture (including design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on various factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon employees are offered a comprehensive total compensation package, including equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
