Job Description

The Cash Compliance Engineering team develops high-scale analytical and visualization systems to detect and halt criminal activities across billions of dollars in person-to-person, merchant, and Bitcoin transactions globally. Our customer-centric approach ensures that humans are at the heart of our endeavors. We are committed to preventing illicit activities like money laundering, human trafficking, and fraud, aligning with Cash App’s mission to promote economic empowerment.

You Will:

• Develop and support our tools with a focus on elegant solutions, usability, and customer needs.
• Write and deploy code across Cash App's evolving architecture.
• Integrate machine learning models for real-time and offline intelligence on potential bad behavior.
• Collaborate with Cash App feature teams to support new product launches by building tools to detect misuse.
• Contribute to our scalable service platform and data pipelines with a future-ready design.

Qualifications

About You:

You have experience with API design and microservices development. You adopt an iterative approach to identifying MVPs and launching them. Your interest lies in fintech, blockchain, machine learning, and data science products.

Technologies we use and teach:

• Kotlin
• Event-driven and microservice architectures
• Relational and NoSQL databases

You have:

• 5+ years (L5) or 8+ years (L6) of relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Ruby, or Python software development.
• Some experience in front-end application development.
• An interest or experience in Fintech, Regtech, Blockchain, machine learning, data science, and virtual currencies.
• A curious, passionate, and growth-oriented mindset.
• A natural curiosity and eagerness to manage all aspects of tool development in a small, dynamic team.

Block adopts a market-based approach to compensation, which varies depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into four zones based on a geographic cost of labor index. Starting pay will be determined by job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Future modifications to these ranges may occur.
