We are excited to announce an opening for a Software Engineer specializing in Computer Vision. This role involves significant technical leadership and contribution to projects influencing the scope of our groundbreaking platforms.

About This Role

The ideal candidate will offer technical leadership within our Core Tech teams, dedicated to innovating and enhancing our foundational technologies that support current and future products at Reality Labs. Your technical proficiency will contribute to our collaborative environment, pushing boundaries in 3D reconstruction, SLAM, object detection and tracking, sensors, imaging systems, and more. Your role will be pivotal in transforming complex systems into consumer-ready products that continue to revolutionize experiences in AR and VR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic direction and execution of high-impact projects that enhance organizational efficiency.
• Design, develop, and refine real-time AR and VR computer vision algorithms.
• Collaborate across various teams to integrate technologies into novel consumer devices.
• Maintain and improve clean, efficient, and readable code.
• Adapt to new challenges in unfamiliar technologies, advocating for innovative solutions.
• Engage with organizational leaders to boost performance and prioritize new opportunities effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading influential projects and multi-year technology roadmaps.
• Strong programming skills coupled with a solid technical foundation in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer vision.
• Professional experience with cross-functional and industry-wide project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Advanced expertise in Physics, Optics, Robotics, Sensor Fusion, or Machine Learning.
• A track record of delivering computer vision or image processing products to a large customer base.

Compensation and Benefits

As a committed equal opportunity employer, we offer a competitive salary range of $213,000 to $293,000/year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package, bonuses, and equity. We prioritize fair compensation based on your skills, experience, and location.
