Job Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at Goldman Sachs, you will focus on software design and development, covering most programming positions in Engineering. Your role is crucial in integrating top-tier open source software, databases, cloud solutions, and programming languages to develop complex, scalable applications that offer valuable insights to our business and clients.

Join us as a change agent, utilizing your technical expertise to transform Goldman Sachs by collaborating with our embedded engineering teams and business partners. Work with professionals from trading, sales, asset management, banking, finance, and more to build and automate solutions that maintain our firm’s industry-leading position.

Alternatively, contribute to our core engineering teams to provide dependable, scalable platforms for data engineering, machine learning, networking, developer tooling, and collaboration. Collaborate with UI/UX designers, data scientists, and cloud engineers in a dynamic, agile environment where your passion for problem-solving will have an immediate impact.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 0-5 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
• Strong project management skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability to various industries and businesses
• Self-direction, analytical skills, and independent judgment capabilities
• Ability to interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders
• Commercial acumen and the discretion to handle confidential information

Expert Knowledge in One or More

• Programming languages (Java, C++, Python) with experience in concurrency and memory management
• Professional experience in responsive web development (React/Angular/Redux) and advanced JavaScript skills
• NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch)

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest or knowledge in trading technologies
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, NY-based position is $110,000-$130,000. In addition, eligible employees may receive a discretionary bonus at fiscal year-end.
