Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, architectures, and datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers, and business partners to understand data needs and drive key data infrastructure decisions.
• Provide expertise in modeling structured and unstructured data, and act as a data consultant for partner teams.
• Engineer reusable capabilities, abstractions, and resilience in data pipelines for DML, DDL, ETL, and data flows that can be leveraged across teams.
• Mentor teammates and exhibit strong communication, prioritization, and adaptability skills.

Job Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
• Experience with databases and data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Presto, Kafka, Flink, and Airflow.
• Experience working in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
• Proven ability to improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000—$221,000 USD annually. Pay may vary based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, geographic location, and education. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talent. Depending on the role, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and options.
