About the Role: Software Engineer - Detections Platform (Remote, ITA)
CrowdStrike is seeking an experienced software engineer to bolster our Detections Platform team. The cloud segment of this platform collaborates with endpoint code to detect security issues, halt adversaries, and provide clients with actionable data. You will be instrumental in processing vast amounts of data, distilling it into essential elements for our customers, and enabling other product teams to develop and deploy new functionalities quickly. As an Engineer-3, you'll contribute to the next iteration of cloud-side detections processing, including real-time endpoint-to-cloud communications and integration with new machine-learning models.
Our primary languages are Go and some Python. While previous Go experience is beneficial, it's not mandatory. Although security industry experience is preferred, it’s not essential; we provide mentorship and training in security topics as required. A strong interest in our mission and an ability to collaborate with product teams and customers is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage cloud-based systems to detect global-scale targeted attacks.
- Collaborate with multi-team members on brainstorming, designing, and building solutions.
- Mentor fellow engineers at CrowdStrike, fostering growth and excellence.
- Provide and receive constructive feedback courteously.
- Craft elegant solutions for complex technical problems, primarily in Go.
- Read and understand code written in various programming languages (Go, Python, Unix shell).
- Automate processes related to model testing, handoff, and deployment.
- Engage in continuous learning and encourage peers to raise the bar.
- Implement engineering best practices, including appropriate testing paradigms, effective code reviews, and resilient architecture patterns.
- Be a ‘self-starter’ who takes ownership and is accountable for deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Background in computer science or equivalent experience (programming styles, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems).
- 5+ years of experience in building and scaling back-end systems in production.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
- Familiarity with Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Experience with any of the following: Go, Scala, Python, Java, C#, C++.
- Experience with cloud services, specifically AWS or Azure (compute and storage offerings).
- Proficiency in developing and deploying in Linux environments.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in computer and/or network security.
- Hands-on experience with Go and Python.
- Familiarity with scalable microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
If you possess a passion for cybersecurity and meet some (but not all) of the qualifications, we still encourage you to apply. #LI-DM1 #LI-Remote
