Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at JPMorgan Chase & Co. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement groundbreaking software solutions that solve complex business problems. You will be involved in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring high-quality standards and innovative approaches.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions.
  • Engage in all aspects of the SDLC including requirement analysis, architectural standards integration, and application design documentation.
  • Translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and perform software enhancements.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application code-related issues.
  • Participate actively in code reviews to ensure alignment with predefined architectural specifications.
  • Recommend improvements during design reviews to incorporate requirements into designs and data flows.
  • Collaborate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to outline proposed solutions.
  • Adopt best practice agile methodologies to optimize team delivery velocity.
  • Review designs and coach staff on distributed system design standards.
  • Lead and support in resolving complex system outages in production and mentor the team in providing exceptional technical support.
  • Design, develop, and implement infrastructure as code solutions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members to help manage their career progression.

This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Plus, 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or a related occupation.

  • Cloud Services (AWS or Azure)
  • Docker, Java, REST, JSON, Maven, Selenium, Hive, JavaScript, JQuery, JUnit
  • Microservices, Performance Testing, Shell Scripting, Apache Kafka
  • Infrastructure Architecture Disciplines, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Kibana, Python
  • Spring Framework, Cassandra, Cucumber, Hadoop, SQL, Machine Learning
  • Real-time cloud native high throughput low latency stream processing and machine learning systems at scale
  • Optimizing for latency and reliability by tuning datastores & schemas, real-time processing logic, watermarks, and sinks
  • Distributed system User Interfaces, RESTful, SOAP, CAP Theorem
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM), diagnosing and resolving cross-system, network, and datastore issues in high throughput and low latency production systems

Location:

Job Location: 1111 Polaris Pkwy., Columbus, OH 43240. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
