Job Description

The InnerSource team at Sun Life manages internal open-source software development, promoting code sharing and reuse company-wide. They provide a platform and adhere to InnerSource best practices, developing reusable Generative AI components that foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation across teams at Sun Life.

In this role, you will join a highly skilled and collaborative team, working with a global community of Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Architects to create Generative AI solutions and drive InnerSource adoption at Sun Life.

What Will You Do?

• Join a global team to create reusable patterns for Generative AI solutions and promote InnerSource adoption at Sun Life.
• Collaborate with Agile team members to ideate, design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with user needs.
• Design and build robust web applications using innovative approaches to advance our client-first strategy.
• Contribute to or adopt global Software Engineering best practices.
• Champion an agile mindset, maintaining transparency and adaptability to foster a high-performing team culture.

What You Need to Succeed

• University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline
• 3-5 years of software development experience
• Experience with web application development (e.g., Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, API)
• Understanding of cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS services), machine learning (ML) fundamentals, and Generative AI solutions
• Proficiency with DevOps tools and capabilities (Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Maven, CDD, Ansible)
• Familiarity with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)

Preferred Skills

• Adaptable with the ability to align to changing priorities
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
• Innovative thinker who generates novel ideas
• Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS cloud, Python, Lambda functions, Generative AI
• Knowledge of front-end languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript/ES6, React.js, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Webpack, XML/JSON, Bootstrap or Foundation)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
