About the Finance and Risk Warehouse
The Finance and Risk Warehouse, part of JP Morgan's Corporate Technology group, integrates data from various bank product systems into a single data lake. This organization supports Finance & Risk reporting, including Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate Risk, Credit Risk, and International Regulatory Reporting. Contribute to the modernization of complex, mission-critical systems in a rapidly growing technology field.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, to build or deconstruct technical problems effectively.
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms with appropriate systems.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met, and gaining consensus from peers.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from diverse data sets for continuous software applications and systems improvement.
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive coding hygiene and system architecture improvements.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
- Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
- Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code using automated continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Collaborate with technical experts, stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex issues.
- Understand service level indicators and objectives to proactively resolve potential customer impact issues.
- Support the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and site reliability with 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in coding in at least one language such as Python, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security. Knowledge of GIT, BitBucket, Jenkins, SONAR, SPLUNK, Maven, AIM, and Continuous Delivery tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI, ML, and mobile.
- Specialized ETL knowledge using tools such as Ab Initio or Spark ETL.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies.
- Knowledge of Cloud environments (private or public), with a preference for AWS experience and certification.
- Willingness to provide weekend support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying and running Ab Initio ETL tools on a public cloud like AWS.
- Understanding and implementation of Data Bricks on a public cloud like AWS.
- Knowledge of Hadoop environment administration, including release deployments to Hive/HBase, job supervision, and cluster coordination services.
- Strong skills in analysis, research, and problem-solving with a structured approach.
- Experience in UNIX file management, administration, and shell scripting.
- Proficiency with Oracle (v9i/10/11/19c), Ansi SQL, PL/SQL Stored Procedures, and supporting Exadata.
- Working knowledge of scheduling packages like Control-M, Autosys, Air Flow, and open telemetry.
