Your Role and Responsibilities
The Software Engineer will be an integral part of the entire software development process, including:
- Reviewing and understanding requirements
- Designing and implementing efficient solutions
- Conducting unit testing and integration testing
- Creating wireframes for UX/UI design to facilitate A/B testing
Our ideal candidate loves every aspect of software development and takes pride in crafting software that delights our customers. You'll also visit clinical environments to gain a solid understanding of the clinical context.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale distributed systems
- Investigate design approaches, prototype concepts, and evaluate technical feasibility
- Continuously monitor industry best practices to foster a culture of engineering excellence
- Work within an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software on tight schedules
- Embrace engineering processes to improve quality, enhance customer experience, and achieve a better product/market fit
- Ensure adherence to robust design, unit testing, code review, and integration testing practices
- Create requirement documentation and automate document creation using tools like Doxygen
Location: Pittsburgh, PA - Only local candidates will be considered.
What You Need to Succeed
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields preferred
- Internship experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in C++ and other object-oriented languages
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including internals
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Background in computer vision
- Familiarity with tools such as GIT, JIRA, and build tools like Make and CMake
- Ability to describe and document design using UML
