Join Intel Labs as a Software Research Engineer - Cloud Security Intern (f/m/d)

Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a passionate Ph.D. student to join our Security and Privacy Research team as an intern, based virtually in Germany. This role will focus on advancing security solutions in cloud computing environments, emphasizing Trustworthy Execution, Confidential Computing, and Secure AI/ML.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Research Engineer intern, you will:

• Collaborate with leading security technologists to define the next generation of security solutions.
• Develop prototypes that extend the trust from CPUs to XPUs, focusing on confidential AI.
• Explore and implement cutting-edge software and system architectures for cloud computing.
• Present your research findings through demonstrations, whitepapers, and presentations at prestigious forums both internally and externally.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum Requirements:

• Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on software and platform security.
• At least 1 year of experience or educational background in C/C++ programming.
• Knowledge in developing system and application software for Linux-based systems.
• A solid understanding of fundamental security concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in software design and development for cloud and datacenter environments.
• Proficiency in system software development and debugging.
• Familiarity with Intel architecture and technologies such as GPU, HPC, and MPI.
• Experience in Confidential Computing and memory-safe languages like Rust.
