About Us: Visa’s Acceptance Solutions Professional Services (ASPS) solves challenges and accelerates innovation and progress for our clients, partners, and payment technology providers. We offer a broad range of services like consulting, technology, business transformation, target state architectures, customer journey mapping, solution development, product acceleration, development, testing, migration, deployment, and value realization.

Position Overview: We are hiring a passionate, dynamic, and client-centric Cloud Solutions Architect with extensive skills and experience in designing and developing Cloud Data Solutions to join our Visa’s ASPS team.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a keen interest in data-driven solutions. They can operate independently in a high-paced, ambiguous environment requiring minimum supervision. They are quick learners and excellent communicators with great influencing skills over internal stakeholders and external clients' solution architecture. They should have a strong knowledge base in data management principles and cloud computing technologies to help their clients unlock the full potential of cloud technologies for managing and deriving value from data. They should be able to provide direction to the junior architects, consultants, and analysts in the project team.

Key Responsibilities: As a Cloud Solutions Architect at Visa, you will be responsible for designing and deploying robust data architecture solutions in cloud settings, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. You will design, deploy, and manage client data architectures on cloud platforms to support data-driven endeavors. Working closely with diverse teams, you will ensure that data is easily accessible, secure, and performance-optimized, thus permitting the derivation of practical insights to drive innovation.

  • Lead workshops to identify client needs, extract insights from identified needs and design solutions that cater to the client requirements, taking into account all influencing factors such as Visa’s Acceptance Platform strategy and direction, the client's ecosystem, the desired time-to-market, and the global market applicability.
  • Comprehend current state architecture, define the future state vision and target state architectures, devise solutions and create roadmaps of prioritized features to meet client requirements, irrespective of whether they are on or off the Visa Acceptance Platform.
  • Create and optimize data models, schemas, and database designs to accommodate business needs.
  • Leverage expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to select appropriate services and infrastructure for business’ data needs.
  • Design, streamline, and manage ETL processes for effective data extraction, transformation, and loading in the cloud environment.
  • Integrate data from various sources to create a unified and accessible data ecosystem.
  • Monitor and fine-tune data systems for peak performance and scalability.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineering, data science, and analytics teams to understand their needs and provide the necessary infrastructure.
  • Document data architecture designs and processes, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Manage cloud resources effectively to minimize cost while preserving performance.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in cloud data management.
  • Estimate and plan for future data storage and processing needs.

This is a hybrid role. Hybrid employees can split their time between the remote and office environment. Staff in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office for 2-3 fixed days weekly (decided by leadership/site), typically in the office for 50% or more of their time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or a minimum of 3 years of experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and implementing data architecture solutions in cloud environments is required. Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc. Solid knowledge of data modeling, database design, and ETL processes. A comprehensive understanding of data security, compliance, and governance practices is essential. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Certifications in data management and cloud technologies are a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Will vary based on the department's needs.

Travel Requirements: This role requires 5-10% travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The incumbent will need to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and over the phone, and frequently operate standard office equipment like telephones and computers.

FOR U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The projected salary range for newcomers to this role is from 150,400.00 to 195,500.00 USD. This can potentially include sales incentive payments (if applicable). The actual salary may vary based on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition, this role may be eligible for bonuses and equity.
