Job Location
Note: This position requires presence in one of our San Francisco Bay Area offices (Currently San Jose, with expansion to Peninsula/SF) for 4 days per week. Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
What You’ll Do
- Develop commodity and category sourcing strategies to ensure suppliers meet Lambda’s current and future technical and business requirements.
- Stay updated on technology and industry trends, and perform competitive analyses on relevant AI, storage, and networking technologies.
- Establish the supplier selection process, evaluate alternate suppliers, manage the RFI/RFQ/RFP process, and drive final business awards.
- Provide technical and commercial expertise to engineering teams to improve TCO and quality.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure best-in-class pricing, quality, delivery, payment, and service terms, and develop benchmarks and cost models.
- Build an end-to-end ODM strategy to support Lambda’s growing cloud hardware scale.
- Manage strategic supplier and commercial relationships with key partners at the executive level and influence supplier’s business models, roadmaps, and support models.
- Develop a supplier management framework including QBRs, scorecards, and supplier performance (SLAs).
Requirements
You:
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a related technical or business discipline.
- Have 10+ years of supply chain experience in data center, cloud, compute, networking, and/or AI hardware.
- Possess experience managing OEMs, ODMs, and JDM suppliers and communicating with senior leadership.
- Understand the manufacturing process for compute, storage, network, and/or AI hardware.
- Have in-depth knowledge of commodity and ODM cost structures, modeling, and negotiation strategies.
- Are experienced in structuring, negotiating, and executing contracts (MSAs, MPAs, and SOWs) and complex agreements.
- Are proficient with ERP, MRP, PLM, and other common supply chain software.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presenting strategic decisions to the executive team.
Preferred Qualifications
Nice to Have:
- MS or PhD in a related technical field, or an MBA.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to debate cost/benefit trade-offs, drive alignment, and make data-driven decisions related to critical partnerships and projects.
Salary Range Information
Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $150,000-$220,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
