Role Overview:
As the BI Manager, you will guide BI projects that drive significant advantages for our customers by ensuring strategies and initiatives comply with regulations, policies, and procedures. This role is crucial for generating essential insights across the customer lifecycle, aligned with our strategic business objectives.
In this position, you'll take ownership of complete work streams within BI initiatives, addressing critical questions from senior leadership and collaborating with cross-functional teams across various business lines in Canada and IB markets. You will use your expertise in business knowledge, data mining, and visual data techniques to enhance data availability and BI capabilities, which will, in turn, improve decision-making processes and increase business value.
Key Responsibilities:
In your new role, you will:
- Coordinate with partners in International Banking to review and gather data for various IB Analytics initiatives.
- Ensure the integrity of data for analysis, delivering business insights and validating hypotheses.
- Conduct analysis to extract actionable business insights and provide recommendations.
- Translate findings into executive communications for ease of decision-making.
Who Are We Looking For?
The ideal candidate for the BI Manager position at Scotiabank will be:

- Skilled in verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and respond effectively to non-technical/business team members.
- Experienced with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Well-versed in financial services with practical experience in business intelligence and/or data engineering.
- Fluent in Spanish with at least 4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficient in Excel, SQL, Power BI, along with other data processing, database programming, and analytics tools.
