Role Overview: Specialty Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to bridge business, data, and technology, transforming data into actionable insights that impact our business. As a Specialty Business Analyst, you’ll be part of a dynamic broking team dedicated to delivering top value for our clients and advancing your specialist practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and visualize data to support decision-making.
  • Identify business requirements and create data visualizations that generate relevant insights.
  • Integrate multiple datasets into coherent visualizations to enhance data context and value.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and establish project timelines.
  • Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, along with performing deep data analysis.
  • Utilize DAX measures and functions within Power BI.
  • Generate documentation according to company standards.
  • Implement SQL queries as needed to enhance BI system performance.
  • Understanding data warehousing principles including Star Schemas, Reporting views, and ETL.
  • Collaborate with technical IT data teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in Power BI and data analytics.
  • Experience with Python and MS SQL Server BI Stack tools (SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX).
  • Proficiency in translating data into relevant reports and graphics.
  • Knowledge of Power BI application security models.
  • Experience in best practices for UX/UI design within Power BI.
  • Ability to execute DAX queries on Power BI desktop.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.
