Spring 2025 Graduate Software Engineering Intern

About the Internship

This 15-week, full-time internship allows you to work directly with experienced engineers, immersing yourself in projects across various business units. Your contributions will help lower space access costs and advance Blue Origin's vision of millions living and working in space for Earth's benefit.

Internship Areas

Aerospace Software Applications: Engage in the design, development, and testing of software for rocket missions. Contribute to creating frameworks and tools for integrating spaceflight systems with model simulations.

Avionics Software: Help design, develop, and test avionics hardware and software for orbital rockets, ground systems, and moon landers.

Mission Control Software: Develop ground software systems and tools for vehicle testing and mission flights, focusing on automating and scaling internal processes.

Enterprise Technology: Support the development of digital infrastructure essential for Blue Origin's mission, becoming a key player in our center of excellence for digital technology.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted asylum/refugee.
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program with at least one semester/quarter remaining post-internship.
  • Completed at least one year of coursework post high school graduation.
  • Available to work full time for a minimum of 15 weeks, not concurrently enrolled in coursework.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for our mission and vision.

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership qualities.
  • Hands-on project experience and familiarity with software verification & testing.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, coding in C, C++, Python, Java Script, Shell, Rust.
  • Experience with embedded software, Spark, SQL, robotics programming.
  • Knowledge of ARINC Standards, UML/SW Design.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
