The Amazon Publisher Monetization (APM) team is revolutionizing the future of monetization for Amazon's advertising-supported publishers, including Freevee and Twitch. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to implement scalable analytics solutions that will drive our business growth.

About the Role

Driving long-term growth for our ad-supported media services requires balancing exceptional customer experiences with products that advertisers want to buy. In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, data engineers, and software engineers to generate actionable metrics that inform high-stakes decisions.

You'll go beyond simple report generation by investing in automation to meet the analytics needs of all business and technical stakeholders. With exposure to a diverse range of technologies, systems, and business challenges, you'll join a pioneering team that's building from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, and user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards to help stakeholders manage the business and make effective decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to understand business requirements and implement solutions to support product plans.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.
  • Create training and documentation to enable stakeholders to maximize the use of our self-serve analytics tools.
  • Develop and support analytical technologies that provide timely, flexible, and structured access to data for our customers.
  • Define, develop, and maintain critical business and operational reports reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Analyze historical data to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and support decision-making, including presenting results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and machine learning model delivery.
  • Understand Amazon's data resources, including which to use, how, and when.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience.
  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.
  • Experience with the design of experiments and statistical analysis of results.
  • Experience with AWS technologies.
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
  • Proven ability to manage, analyze, and communicate results to senior leadership.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors, including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
