About the Role
The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is on the lookout for a Lead Cloud Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics Service (DAS) Team. Partnering with various business lines across the Federal Reserve System, our team delivers advanced cloud and big data solutions and analytics products.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, implementation, and review of complex data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
- Develop comprehensive data warehouse applications, software from established requirements, reports, dashboards, prototypes, and collaborate with fellow programmers to meet delivery commitments.
- Recommend process improvements and participate in the design of technology infrastructure and configurations.
- Review, implement, and deploy complex software packages including new versions and patches of data warehouse applications.
- Engage as a key participant in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Design, develop, modify, test, and automate data warehouse and business intelligence application solutions, ensuring quality management, metadata and repository creation, troubleshooting, and application tuning.
- Develop transition and implementation plans, recommending changes in development, maintenance, and standards.
Qualifications
- 5 to 9+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, and software engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- US Citizen or Green Card holder.
- Expert proficiency in complex SQL development on various RDBMS (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling, ETL tools (Informatica), and understanding distinct data structures.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Data Warehousing Technologies: S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Aurora Postgres SQL.
- Knowledge in AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, AWS SDKs, and CI/CD pipeline deployment using GitLab, Terraform, DBMaestro.
- Proficiency in writing secure code using AWS best practices, and in creating scripts with Python.
- Experience with visualization tools (Tableau) and SAP Business Objects (BO).
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and various other software applications relevant to the role.
Desired Skills
- Understanding of application lifecycle management and container usage in development.
- Ability to create quality ERDs and apply cloud-native application concepts.
- Proficiency in writing serverless application code.
Salary and Benefits
Base Salary Range: Min: $138,900 - Mid: $180,400 - Max: $221,900 (Location: San Francisco). Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
