Base salary ranging from $97,100.00 to $161,800.00. Salary is determined based on the candidate’s location, experience, knowledge, and abilities. This role may also be eligible for additional incentives and compensation programs.

Job Description

The Sr. Data Engineer will be an essential part of a team devoted to leveraging data for decision-making and improving the Consumer/Retail solutions within Cox Automotive. The role involves providing vital data and insights to drive performance-based strategies for the sales team, setting up advanced data analytics, and developing comprehensive Data Engineering solutions.

This position requires collaboration with various internal and external teams to understand strategic issues and support business decisions with a customer-centric approach.

The Sr. Data Engineer will work closely with business users, data engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that drive growth and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Report/Dashboard Design and Development: Create user-friendly and visually compelling dashboards and reports that align with business needs. Implement data visualization best practices and keep up with industry trends.
• Data Gathering, Integration, and Validation: Collect, integrate, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure quality and consistency. Perform data transformations and modeling to prepare data for analysis.
• Metric and Ad-Hoc Solutions: Define key performance indicators, innovate metrics, and use advanced analytics for deep insights. Support ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests.
• Project Management: Design viable data solutions in collaboration with various organizational teams, recommend process improvements, and manage projects independently.
• Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Document development processes and continually improve reporting and dashboarding methods, adopting new technologies where applicable.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience in data analysis and process building, preferably within the Automotive industry.
• Expertise in SQL, Power BI, and Tableau; experience with Snowflake, ETL tools like Alteryx, Informatica is a plus.
• Proficiency in advanced quantitative methods or statistical models (clustering, regression, ANOVA).
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and a self-driven work ethic.
• Experience with Automotive metrics and analytics is preferred.
