Role Description

As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will:

  • Actively develop, enhance, and maintain data pipelines and workflows for marketing data and metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build data metric requirements, create POCs, and document both functional and technical requirements.
  • Design and develop reusable automation data frameworks.
  • Manage end-to-end data activities including data lineage, integration, data quality checks, and analysis.
  • Evaluate, identify root causes, and resolve critical issues.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to support data needs and develop scalable architecture for model deployment.
  • Work with global teams in North America, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Advise leaders on best practices around data usage and product development.

Required Skills/Experience

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 5+ years of information systems experience in data engineering, data modeling, automation, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in orchestration software like Apache Airflow and dbt.
  • Experience with AWS technologies like ECS, Aurora, Lambda, S3, and Sagemaker.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
  • Ability to interface across various technologies through APIs.
  • Experience with Snowflake and similar centralized data platforms.
  • Full proficiency in data engineering concepts, database designs, associated tools, and architectures.
  • Technical lead/solution architecture experience in a stakeholder-focused team.
  • Experience working closely with Analytics/Data Science teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-first mentality.
  • Proactive communication skills and the ability to identify risks.
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to shift directions quickly, think innovatively, and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Results-oriented mindset able to work with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills/Experience

Preferred but not mandatory skills include:

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Bash, and Python scripting.
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
  • Experience designing systems that incorporate data from various sources to create content recommendations and user profiles.
