Job Description: Sr. Data Engineer (US Remote)

Experian EITS is seeking an experienced Software Data Engineer to design and build scalable software systems that utilize large and diverse data sources. The recent advancements in Generative AI highlight the need for processing structured and unstructured data to leverage large language models. We are looking for a skilled professional with hands-on experience in software and data engineering to bolster our data science and machine learning initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with various technology teams to drive the inception, implementation, and deployment of these solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate and optimize applications of large language models.
  • Implement best practices for data processing (ingestion, cleansing, transformation, storage) and management, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, storage, and processing.
  • Explore innovative technologies to enhance existing products and shape new ones.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and scientists across regions and business units.
  • Document, summarize, and communicate development results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

What Your Background Looks Like

  • Master's degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics).
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in business information, fraud, or credit data.
  • Experience developing software in Java, Python, C/C++, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with data querying languages such as SQL.
  • Experience with machine learning methods like Neural Networks, Clustering, SVM, Ensemble models, and Reinforcement Learning.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a related quantitative field.
  • Extensive experience with large data architectures, including Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in embedding models, chunking strategies, and vector stores.
  • Hands-on experience with modern Generative AI tools and frameworks like OpenAI, Hugging Face, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
  • Proven track record of guiding team members in deploying AI/ML solutions into production environments.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud-based platforms for machine learning and data processing.
