Position Summary

Aetna Resources, LLC, a CVS Health company, is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer in Woonsocket, RI. This role involves developing, building, and managing large-scale data structures, pipelines, and efficient Extract/Load/Transform (ETL) workflows. You will address complex problems and support business applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting needs.
  • Write ETL processes, design database systems, and develop tools for real-time and offline analytic processing, improving existing systems and expanding capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
  • Test and maintain systems, troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Leverage Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and designing and optimizing queries to build data pipelines.
  • Utilize programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems.
  • Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers.
  • Integrate data from various sources, ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards.
  • Analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions to complex business problems.
  • Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to provide optimal solutions that meet the requirements dictated by the model/use case.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field, along with two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related software engineering occupation. You must also have two (2) years of experience in each of the following areas:

  • Python
  • Agile methodologies
  • Oracle
  • JIRA
  • Providing domain support for healthcare or retail pharmacy organization
  • Analyzing large data sets from multiple data sources
  • Data analysis for health care industry, products, or systems
  • Analytics experience within the retail and/or healthcare industries
  • SQL programming languages
  • Traditional relational data warehouse technologies: Oracle, Teradata, or DB2
  • PySpark

Compensation

Pay Range: $109,283.00/year to $150,000.00/year. This range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
