About the Role: Senior Data Scientist, Data Lab

We're excited to offer a career opportunity within our Data Lab, the research and innovation hub of Experian in Latin America, including Serasa Experian in Brazil. As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role by using advanced programming, data analysis, and machine learning to solve complex business problems. You will be the technical lead for a team of data scientists and collaborate with engineering and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced data analyses and machine learning models for credit risk, insurance claims risks, and fraud detection.
  • Efficiently manipulate large data volumes while ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Work closely with Data Engineering, Product, and Business teams to understand requirements and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Continuously explore new data sources and analysis techniques to improve model accuracy.
  • Present results and recommendations to stakeholders and executive teams.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in Data Science and related industries.
  • Design data-driven product development roadmaps that align with business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in statistical modeling in credit and insurance sectors is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including data manipulation and machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn and TensorFlow.
  • Experience with big data environments such as Hadoop (HDFS), distributed data processing (PySpark), and SQL.
  • Proven ability to develop and deploy machine learning models, with knowledge in model validation, tuning, and monitoring.
  • Effective problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
