Overview of the Role

As part of the customer-focused Machine Learning (ML) Practice team at Databricks, you'll tackle challenging projects involving Large Language Models (LLMs) and help deliver cutting-edge solutions to our diverse clientele. Engage in exciting work ranging from building ML pipelines to deploying them in production environments and guiding long-term strategic ML initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative LLM applications using customer data, including but not limited to, RAG architectures and natural language querying of structured data.
  • Enhance data science workloads for our customers and implement robust MLOps systems across different domains.
  • Provide consultancy on data architecture, tooling, and best practices to data science teams.
  • Represent Databricks at leading technical conferences and contribute to community learning.
  • Offer mentorship within the ML SME community and collaborate with our engineering and product divisions to help steer product directions.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Advanced knowledge in natural language processing, vector databases, LLM fine-tuning, and deployment using tools like HuggingFace and OpenAI.
  • A minimum of 4 years in data science roles, with proven experience in using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Demonstrated capability in building ML systems on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • A graduate degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience, paired with excellent ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A deep collaborative spirit and a passion for continual learning and innovation in the field of machine learning.
  • (Preferred) Experience with Apache Spark™ in handling large-scale data sets.

Salary & Compensation Transparency

Databricks believes in fairness and transparency. For this role, the pay range is $124,800—$220,800 USD, depending on location and experience. Total compensation may include bonuses, equity, and access to our comprehensive benefits package.
