About the Role - Sr. Data Scientist (Network Engineering)

As part of our Starlink Network Analytics Team, you will dive deep into the network health of over 2 million Starlink products worldwide. Your role involves crafting the strategies, models, and tools to assess and optimize network efficiency and enhance user experiences through advanced data-driven decision making.

Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging statistical analysis, software, and telemetry to identify emerging trends within the Starlink Network.
  • Converting data insights into strategic actions for our engineering teams.
  • Implementing monitoring systems that rapidly detect network trends and issues.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to bolster user experience.
  • Creating and validating models to predict network health.
  • Taking ownership of the user experience segment of the Starlink Network.

What We Require

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, or 7+ years of relevant professional experience instead of a degree
  • At least 5 years of experience crafting solutions using Python and SQL
  • Established track record with statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Proven expertise in developing prediction models and machine learning pipelines
  • Strong data visualization capabilities, especially with geospatial data
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal and written formats
  • Experience in designing and managing relational databases (SQL)
  • Background in statistics or computational physics

Additional Requirements

Be prepared to potentially work longer hours and weekends when necessary to meet mission demands.

Compensation and Benefits

Expect a competitive salary range between $160,000 and $220,000 per year, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package. This includes stock options, health benefits, a 401(k) plan, and more. Eligibility for further incentives and bonuses exists, enhancing the total compensation.
